"Fuck you, God" is generally not a great lyric to mumble to yourself in Target.
My friend: “Hey, you were a drama major, right? Do you have a recommendation for a good modern play?”
My willingness to sing along in a theatre is vastly different from someone becoming complacent during the Nazi Regime.

Hello yourself! Thank you for enjoying our blog. We’ve been on a bit of a haitus due to post-graduation laziness, so we appreciate hearing from you!
As far as monologues go, I generally recommend Charles Mee. All his works can be found online FOR FREE and he has some great material (however, sometimes you need to string it together to form a coherent monologue.)
If Chuck Mee isn’t your thing, Neil Labute also generally has great monologues — although not as lighthearted in nature.
Finally, I personally like to look for new monologues from new plays — that way they won’t be overdone…yet. Humana publishes their plays and has a generally high standard of quality. Although another good way is to check out New Play Festivals in your area.
Hope that helped! And good luck with any and all auditioning I’m assuming you’re preparing for.

We actually don’t know of any… However we do know the feeling of surviving through shows and exams. Anybody have a meme?
